The sulaimani & mohabbath scene with Dulqar and Thilakan was a mesmerizing one. The screenplay by Anjali menon is too good that we don't get stuck anywhere, a bit let loose towards the end, making it melodramatic - I got a lump in my throat after a very long time.

With the backdrop of food and malabar,it does provide an interesting watch, the more appeasing if you are from malabar region. Interesting though and I have put her previous two films on the list to track down 🙂Īrchives Archives Categories Categories Useful Stuff I think I find Anjali Menon more fulfilling than Balki but I’ve only seen these two films from her and I find her subject matter more appealing too. I also really enjoyed the many shots set on the beach as this is something I do when I want to think – go and sit on the beach and stare out across the bay 🙂

The main aspects that stood out for me were the wonderful shots of food (and I see we had the same thoughts on that!) and Thilakan who was wonderful. I didn’t think the whole trip to Madurai was necessary since I thought enough had gone before to allow Faizi to change his mind, but that’s just my opinion! My DVD also stopped 14 minutes before the end and I had to watch the last part on YT without subtitles so perhaps that’s a part of why it felt like such an add-on. Great review too – I agree with you about way the film ends and did think that the last segment had a ‘tacked on’ feel to it.
